Line Study, 2014

In Divecha's 'Line Study'(2014), short intervals of carefully hand drawn lines followed by precisely cut paper articulates the composition to reveal a void. The artist does not intend to evoke any feelings or emotion, but rather remains anchored in his process. Experimenting and creating parallel lines in this manner highlights Divecha's approach to chance operations and relinquishing artistic agency to let matter express itself. Over time a form emerges from itself as the cardboard support structure collapses. Divecha neither resists nor fully command the outcome.
